AN EXPERIENCED LEADER
Tim is a public servant and law enforcement professional with 34 years of experience. For the last 25 years, he has both served and resided in Bonneville County. He understands the community and will use the experience he has acquired to bring a fresh perspective to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and people of Bonneville County.
Tim honed his leadership and management skills while serving the residents of Bonneville County as a Police Officer, career in the United States Air Force, and as a Corrections Officer at the Idaho Department of Correction. He currently serves as a Lieutenant with the Local Police Department and is assigned to Professional Standards and Logistics Bureau where he is responsible for the oversight of recruitment/hiring, training curriculum & budget, equipment acquisition/disposal & budget, Animal Services, and conducts & oversees Internal Affairs Investigations.
Tim earned a Master of Science Management and Leadership from Western Governors University, a Bachelor of Science Human Resources Training and Development from Idaho State University, and an Associate of Applied Science Security Administration from the Community College of the Air Force.
Previously he has served as a Training Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, Detective, School Resource Officer, Warrants Officer, Field Training Officer, and SWAT Officer. He retired from United States Air Force Reserve as a Master Sergeant with 21 years of combined active duty and reserve service.
Tim holds an Idaho State Peace Officer Supervisor’s Certificate, is an Idaho State Peace Officer Certified High Liability Training Instructor, and an Idaho State Enhanced License to Carry Concealed Weapons Instructor.
Tim owned and operated a roofing business in Bonneville County, was activated by the United States Air Force during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Hill Air Force Base’s Security Forces active duty training section until he retired in 2009.
Tim has three adult children that attended Bonneville County Schools. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast, a member of the Idaho Falls Trail Machine Association, a member of the American Motorcyclist Association, and enjoys spending his free time with family/friends, gardening, and riding motorcycles.
